Dinner at the Hahn Horticulture Garden July 12

The Hahn Horticulture Garden is nearly six acres of teaching and display gardens located on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. Established in 1984 by Horticulture faculty, the garden serves undergraduate students and the local community as a learning resource for plant material, landscaping concepts, and environmental awareness. Garden features include perennial borders, water gardens, shade gardens, meadow garden, and the Peggy Lee Hahn Garden Pavilion.

This award-winning, mountain top getaway features a variety of cottages and a Grand Historic Hotel built in 1936 out of native sandstone. The resort is located in the Blue Ridge Highlands only 30 minutes from the Virginia Tech campus. The movie "Dirty Dancing" was filmed here in 1986.

Hiking at the Cascades July 15

A scenic hike to a beautiful 69 ft. waterfall which can be hiked either using a more strenuous trail or recreational service road; though 4 miles, most anyone can hike to the falls at the top of the trail. This is one of the top recreational attractions in the New River Valley.
